Adult tennis camps are often marketed with the same ingredients: great coaches, beautiful courts, small groups and lots of fun. The details determine whether that promise fits you.
Start with your real goal
Do you want technical change, match-play confidence, fitness, social doubles, clay experience or simply guaranteed people to hit with? A camp that is perfect for one goal can be mediocre for another.
Ask about level matching
“Players of all levels welcome” sounds inclusive but can create weak sessions if group sorting is poor. Ask how levels are assessed and how often groups can change.
Calculate true court hours
A three-hour block may include warm-up, instruction, feeding, waiting and breaks. Ask about player-to-court and player-to-coach ratios, and whether private lessons can be added.
Understand the physical load
Five straight days of intense tennis can be too much for a recreational player who normally plays twice per week. Better programs can scale volume or mix instruction with match play and recovery.
Vacation compatibility
If a partner or family member is coming, evaluate the destination independently of the tennis. Is there enough to do? Is transport easy? Are meals and afternoons flexible?
The best adult camp leaves you wanting to play more when you get home — not needing two weeks to recover from your vacation.
